Day 1 - Arrival Entebbe/Kampala – Transfer to Mount Elgon (Mbale or Sipi Falls)
Arrival at Entebbe International Airport. Meet your professional driver-guide and depart for eastern Uganda (approx. 5–6 hrs scenic drive). Stop in Jinja for views of the Nile (optional). Arrive at Sipi Falls in the evening. Check into your lodge with stunning views of the three-tiered waterfalls. Overnight: Sipi Falls Lodge or Rafiki Lodge Sipi (Full Board) Activity: Relaxation & sunset over Sipi Falls
Day 2 - Sipi Falls Hiking & Coffee Experience
Morning guided hike to all three Sipi waterfalls with abseiling option (75m drop – extra cost). Afternoon community walk and hands-on Arabica coffee tour – learn how Uganda’s finest coffee is grown on the slopes of Mount Elgon. Visit local villages and caves. Overnight: Same lodge at Sipi Falls Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 3 - Transfer to Mount Elgon National Park – Kapkwai Exploration Center & Forest Walk
Drive to Kapkwai gate (Budadiri). Visit the Forest Exploration Centre and embark on a 3–5 hour forest walk through montane forest spotting black-and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and abundant birdlife. Optional short hike to Kapkwata caves. Overnight: Sipi River Lodge or Lacam Lodge (inside the park area)
Day 4 - Mount Elgon Trek to Wagagai Peak (4,321m) – Sasa Trail
Begin your ascent along the Sasa Trail, one of the main hiking routes to Wagagai Peak. The trail climbs steadily through montane forest, bamboo vegetation, heath, and alpine moorland while offering impressive views of the surrounding landscape.
Reach Wagagai Peak, the highest point on Mount Elgon and the second highest mountain peak in Uganda. Spend time enjoying the views before resting at camp.

Day 5 - Final Descent & Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe
After breakfast, begin your descent through the different vegetation zones of Mount Elgon. The return hike provides another opportunity to enjoy the mountain scenery and observe wildlife along the trail before reaching the park headquarters.

Day 6: Community Visit and Wildlife Viewing
Visit nearby Bagisu communities to learn about their traditions, farming practices, and the famous Imbalu circumcision ceremony, which is an important cultural event in eastern Uganda. Depending on the season and wildlife movements, enjoy a guided nature drive or walk in areas where elephants, buffaloes, primates, and other wildlife are occasionally seen within the park.
Day 7: Return to Kampala or Entebbe
After breakfast, begin the return journey to Kampala or Entebbe, bringing your Mount Elgon hiking adventure to an end.
